Trend Report: Fresh + Clean

Trend Report - Fresh & Clean | Beauty Betsphoto: Chris McDuffie

Maybe it’s the Sports Illustrated supermodels from my formative years, or that episode from GIRLS where Marnie emerges from the lake still looking like a goddess in her red sequin gown (possibly the only thing I enjoyed about that episode), but I’ve always felt best in my skin wearing nothing more than a towel, wet hair and a freshly washed face. Why must we get dressed, dry our hair and put on all of that makeup? Oh right, the office. But I’d like to think we can carry a bit of that innocent, unencumbered beauty into the real world, and the artists at Warpaint International agrees. The on-demand makeup team’s spring trend guide captures a trend I hope will never go out of style: raw and natural, innocent and confident. To get this look at home, keep skin clean and makeup simple with a neutral palette. I’m ever guilty of going for the pinks and reds, but it’s clear from these photos that restraint can be a good thing!
