The Love List // August

The Love List // August | Beauty Bets

Waaaaaaa! That’s how I feel when August rolls around. Summer in Minneapolis is about as good as it gets (minus the humidity) so I tend to hang on to it for dear life. Come to think of it, I’m not good with change of any kind . . . will save that psychoanalysis for another day and leave you with these late-summer loves!

1. There’s something magical about Moon Juice Beauty Dust ($  ). The jar makes me want sit cross-legged and break out the tarot cards but inside is a delicately nutty-sweet powder elixir that, when mixed with ho-hum water, firms and hydrates skin from the inside out. // 2. There are plenty of good dry shampoos on the market but only a few really great ones. AG Haircare Simply Dry ($9) totally blew me away with its major oil-sopping, volumizing power. // 3. Sometime around mid-July I switched from my usual red pedi to Essie Cashmere Bathrobe ($8) and haven’t looked back. Thea creamy charcoal gray is a perfectly cool neutral that will take you into fall, too.  // 4. Fresh off the presses, Sage Living by lifestyle blogger + stylist Anne Sage hits all the right notes for anyone trying to create a home that feels like your own. // 5. Marc Jacobs has done it again with an ultra-shiny luxe line of lip glosses that have all the staying power of his lipsticks in a range of flattering, not-too-sticky shades ($28). // 6. Coco Rose Body Polish ($36): Maya loves this coconut scrub from the awesome vegan beauty brand Herbivore Botanicals: “Not only do my bare legs smell divine, but they also look flawless just in time for long summer days lounging poolside.” // 7. Okay, so maybe August won’t be so bad if I can start sneaking suede into my wardrobe. I wear navy year-round so love the idea of going monochromatic with these Tori Burch wedges ($295 ). // 8. I finally upgraded my Maybelline Great Lash clear mascara for Eyekos’s Brow Gel ($24), which gives me arch support all day and is tinted for added insurance.
