Going Platinum

With the exception of a red phase in high school and few sorority girl highlights in college, I’ve been a true brunette my entire life. I’ve come to the conclusion that brown isn’t boring, but every once in awhile the spirit almost moves me to do something totally transformational. Lately I’ve been jealous of all the girls going platinum, or even “granny” as the internets have taking to calling this almost gray, pastel hue. There is something so bold and powerful about the perfect shade of pale. There’s no in between, no kind-of-sort-of-maybe. If you’re considering the platinum trend, I bow down to you and offer a few tricks I’ve learned from spending my days around beauty experts and the stylists at Loreal Paris, who swear by Feria Extreme Platinum:

1. Keep your color looking healthy and luminous with transforming shot of Loreal Color Vibrancy Instant Nourishing Treatment—only 60 seconds for serious shine and nutrition. // 2. You CAN go platinum at home! Feria Extreme Platinum lifts up to 7 levels without ammonia. // 3. Sometimes something as simple as a pair of rose gold studs is all you need to make a statement. Because you’re cool like that. // 4. Contrast can be fun, but pairing your platinum locks with blush specs for a monochromatic effect keeps the focus on you. And looks super cool. // 5. Keep your new color protected from the sun and pristine longer with a cute Panama hat. // 6. Speaking of makeup, try a soft tawny shade that brings out your natural lip color and won’t compete with your blonde crop. // 7. A new hair color means new makeup, too. Navy eyeliner brightens the whites of eyes and feels so fresh for spring. // 8. Your hair color is anything but boring, might as well own it with this cute canvas pouch. // 9. Avoid makeup meltdown and finish your look with Infallible Makeup Setting Spray to keep that just-applied look all day.
