A Very Happy Holiday Haul

Good morning! How was your holidazzling? Hopefully as relaxing and loved-one filled as mine. I’m emerging from my lobster-mac-and-cheese-champagne-spritz induced coma just long enough to share a few of my yummy prezzies. We’ve never gone overboard with gifts in my family—eating, drinking and playing cards is more our thing—but that doesn’t mean we don’t get into giving. I’m feeling particularly spoiled this year . . .

J.Crew Cotton Pajamas ($50 and up)
When I was a kid, PJs (usually flannel) were one of my favorite Christmas gifts. My brother and I would always wear ours home from Grandma’s, tucked into the back of the mini-van. I don’t know why I waited so long to graduate from tank top and sweats to a classic pair of pajamas, but now that I have I’ll never go back. They are irrationally soft and cozy, yet make me feel pulled together and British. They are also SOLD OUT, but the nightshirt isn’t!

Cuisinart Toaster, Broiler and Convection Oven ($130)
You know you’re grown up when you get giddy about small appliances. This is my answer to the microwave, which we haven’t owned in five years. It can turn just about anything into a warm, toasty treat in five minutes flat, and it looks hardcore on the counter.

Keurig Platinum Brewer Drip Coffee Maker ($180)
When Mr. Bets brought this home for “us,” I was pretty sure that was a front for getting himself a gadget. Why did I need some high-tech coffee maker when our French press produced such a perfect cup? Then I used it to make a steaming, pre-steeped cup of tea in 30 seconds. Sold! I don’t know how it does that, and I don’t really care (plus, it’s patented), I’m just looking forward to never again waiting for the water to boil, cleaning up wet grounds, and tossing out leftover coffee. Oh, and you don’t even need to use the pods, which can add up, because the Kiki comes with a mesh basket for brewing your own grounds or loose-leaf tea.
