Katie Najjar Knows Beauty

If she’s not throwing a color-coordinated, impeccably executed soiree, Katie Najjar is probably helping you host yours. The professional event planner (and newlywed) could give Martha Stewart a run for her money. She’s just as particular about her party favors as her beauty products—and that’s a good thing.

(l to r) Histoires de Parfumes 1826 – I have a very sensitive nose and can’t wear fragrances that often, but this one is just right. It has hints of my favorite scent, anise, and I’m a sucker for anything influenced by a French woman!  Brenda Christian Universal Brow Definer – Perfect for my slightly sparse brows. One shade fits all so it matches no matter what my current hair color.  Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo – I have thick, wavy, color-treated, heat-styled hair, so it’s not easy to make it soft and shiny. This sulfate and paraban-free shampoo does the trick, smells very nice, lathers really well (important when you have lots and lots of hair!), and costs only $8!  Suki Creamy Foaming Cleanser – I was loyal to a certain dermatologist-recommended drugstore brand for years, but after learning how dangerous its ingredients are, I had to find an alternative. This all-natural cleanser is a bit expensive, but a little goes a long way and it cleans well without irritating my sensitive skin.  Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation (in blush ivory) – It’s hard to find the right shade for very fair skin like mine—everything is either too yellow or orange—but this foundation is the perfect. Plus, it goes on with your finger tips and the coverage isn’t too heavy.
