Road Trip Beauty

I daydream about road trips the way 13-year-old girls obsess over how Justin Bieber’s hair falls in his eyes. But sitting in a car for hours and hours on end can definitely be grueling and leave you feeling less than pretty. Since I’m leaving on a nine-day road trip Friday (!!!), I thought I’d share my packing list of beauty essentials that keep me looking (and feeling) fresh while en route. —Meghan

Some face wipes leave me dried out, but Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Brightening Facial Towlettes ($7.99) are both cleansing and moisturizing. Biodegradable, too! After multiple gas station washings, my hands can be drier than heck. I love Borghese Radiante Brightening Hand Crème ($5) because it feels like a luxury product and isn’t greasy at all. Speaking of hand washings, I don’t consider myself road-trip ready until I’ve stocked up on Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes ($1.49) and a basic hand sanitizer. Chipped polish drives me up the wall, but there’s no way I’m going on vacay without a fresh mani. e.l.f. Professional Nail Polish Remover Pads ($1) are easy to tote along in case my polish chips while I’m away from home. Sonia Kashuk’s Purse Brush Set ($12.99) includes four mini brushes packed in a slick hard case the size of an iPhone. Red eyes aren’t strictly limited to air travel. Keep your eyes bright and moisturized with a mini bottle of Visine ($1.99). Waking up a rest stop and digging for my toothbrush and paste isn’t exactly convenient, which is why I love Colgate Wisps ($7.50 for 16). No water necessary! I love fast food as much as the next girl, but I know it can wreck havoc on my skin. I like to pack plenty of healthy snacks so I can pass on the drive-thru without passing out of hunger. Larabar minis ($10 for 12) are my newest obsession! I’m the queen of taking a sip of coffee at the exact moment my boyfriend hits the accelerator. Tide to Go Mini ($5.99 for two) has been a lipstick-sized savior of many of my travel-day outfits.
