Resolution: Detox Your Skin

Making the Switch to Clean Skincare Products | Beauty Bets

With all of the heavy—albeit important—resolutions that we’ve been talking about, allow me suggest one that’s easier than you think and totally feel-good: Make 2016 the year that you switch to a clean skincare routine. Chances are pretty good that this has been on your mind for quite some time and that you’ve been putting it off (happens to the best of us). But, there’s no time like the present, so let’s get to it, shall we?

Making the Switch to Clean Skincare Products: 6 Ingedients to Avoid | Beauty Bets

This process begins with a bathroom purge. Go through your drawers and cupboards and throw away any skincare products that have expired and anything with harmful ingredients on the labels. One Love Organics did a wonderful post featuring the Top 6 Ingredients to Avoid, which included this  handy list that will help you get started. You’ll probably be surprised how often you spot one of these ingredients on the label, but this is worth it, I promise!

One Love Organics Skin Detox Plan

The next step is finding a routine that works for you. One Love Organics has created regimens tailored to specific skincare needs and concerns in this handy guide.  We’ve also simplified the process with the Beauty Resolution Detox + Glow Kit, a collection of products designed to cleanse, balance and restore harmony so your skin can look its best this year. Order it ASAP so you can join us January 22-24 for a virtual detox of mind, body and spirit. We’ll have wellness experts on hand, including One Love’s founder, Suzanne LeRoux and nutritionist Amie Valpone of The Healthy Apple and author of Eating Clean, to lead you in a comprehensive food, skin and lifestyle detox. So much fun it won’t feel like work!

For more details and to join the detox, sign up for OLO’s newsletter on their homepage (look in the bottom right hand corner), grab the Beauty Resolution Detox + Glow Kit and pencil in January 22-24!

Two Years in the Making

What a difference two years makes! I still can’t believe it’s been that long I teamed up with One Love Organics on the skincare line of my dreams. The job of my dreams! What started with a commitment to creating the best multitasking, brightening serum (amiright?!) is now six products strong and growing. We are ECOCERT certified. Award-winning. At Anthropologie! Just when I think life in ED4OLO land couldn’t get any better we decide to rebrand. Bet you didn’t see that coming!

As much as I loved our original black and white packaging—timeless, not-too-girly, and vanity friendly—it didn’t hang with its peachy One Love Organics brethren. As we grow, we want all of the lines within OLO to grow together, and to make sense to all of you on the shelf. Bringing the blush into the line and putting our hard-working vitamins front and center not only feels right but will help you better navigate the line. Do you love? I hope so!

Another fun feature: These handy icons to discover + decode which products are right for your skin, their benefits, and when and how to use them. We’ve always been big on simplifying beauty without sacrificing effectiveness, and these details help us deliver on that promise. In the coming weeks I’ll also share some of the enhancements we’ve made to a few of our formulas. You may not even notice them, but your skin will!

Now Taking Your Skincare Questions

After jet setting around the country for the last few years with her Air Force husband, our Natural Beauty expert Hannah has settled down in Sacramento and realizing her big dream of becoming an esthetician. We can’t wait to live vicariously while she geeks out over microdermabrasion and perfects her pore extractions.  Now, in addition to her popular DIY beauty ideas, Hannah will be taking your skincare questions in her new column, Ask an Esti. Whether you’re battling blemishes or befuddled by that fancy serum, no question is off limits for our resident expert. Leave them below in the comments section, or email Hannah anytime at hannah.kuhary@gmail.com. –Bets
