To say I’m beyond excited to help host this year’s A Night for Green Beauty with One Love Organics would be a massive understatement. Just get a load of the indie brands who are participating! I get an all-natural high just thinking about it. If you’re in NYC or will be visiting for NYFW, please stop by, say hello, and have a cocktail or green juice from Pressed Juicery (I like to rotate). Plus, nothing would give me more pleasure than to spritz you with our Vitamin D Moisture Mist in person. A love spritz, if you will. No RSVP required—the more the merrier! –Elizabeth
NYFW may have come to an end, but now’s your chance to get in on the fall shows! During the month of February, when you buy two TRESemmé products at Walgreens (I recommend the Fresh Start Dry Shampoo), you’ll receive a code to enter here for a chance to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. The grand prize includes:
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week access
Round trip airfare for two
Hotel stay for 3 nights/4 days
$1,000 spending money (hey now)
Gift card to a New York salon
20 first prize winners will also receive $250 Walgreens gift cards (yes, please)
Although we can’t all be winners, behind-the-scenes videos are the next-best thing. I lose hours, slack-jawed, watching these—especially the beauty ones. Forget the outfit changes, I don’t know how the stylists turn out the seemingly endless parade of updos.
I’m loving the sweet buns with a retro twists for spring. They’re that perfect combo of romantic and modern. Just add an orange-red lip and flirty dress.
Any spring beauty trends you’re looking forward to? Until then, get thee to a Walgreens, snap up two TRESemmé products, and head on over here to enter. Good luck!
NYFW is well underway, complete with those beauty “trends” that just won’t die (I’m looking at you, red eye shadow). Blink and you might miss the inspiration for the everyday girl. Any one of these tricks will make you feel instantly prettier right now. I’ll take that!
The Show: Alexander Wang Beauty Notes: Ignore the forehead jewelry and note the flawless, luminous skin—perfect but not unattainable with the right makeup. Artist Diane Kendal used Nars Sheer Glow Foundation but you could also do like moi and mix a little illuminator such as MAC Strobe Cream in with your favorite foundation.
The Show: Erin Fetherston Beauty Notes: Sometimes nail polish is the only accessory you need. Here, it’s Butter London Lillibet’s Jubilee, a lavender-hued silver metallic. Love how the sweetly rounded nail shape of her nails juxtaposes the edgy, rock-and-roll shade for softer look.
The Show: Marissa Webb Beauty Notes: Bobbi Brown gave models lightly bronzed cheeks, subtle smoky eyes and rosy lips with products from her forthcoming spring collection, while hairstylist Michael Angelo created low, back-combed pony tails. The perfect recipe for fresh-faced, all-American beauty.
Born and raised in Minnesota by surprisingly low-maintenance parents, beauty writer and lifestyle editor Elizabeth Dehn (aka Bets) spent her awkward years buying Mood lipstick and whipping up DIY face masks before founding Beauty Bets in 2009.
