Spring Preview: BareMinerals Remix Collection

I always look forward to the seasonal collections from BareEscentuals, but this one stole my heart. BE has managed to put together the perfect lineup for your spring holiday, whether you’re off to St. Tropez or trying to look like you just got back. In stores now, the Remix Trend Collection includes some of my favorite basics—Ready Eyeshadow Quads  and the Flawless Definition Mascara—and combines them with beach-ready beauty such as BE’s first-ever Bronzing Mineral Veil with SPF 25 and the golden-hued Secret Radiance which give sun-kissed skin a luminous glow. On top of this beachy goodness comes an absolute crowd-pleaser: Ready Blush in a new shade, The Natural High, which rivals NARS Orgasm but with twice the staying power! Even while there’s snow on the ground, we can all get behind the Loud & Clear Lip Sheers, a shiny, translucent tinted balm available in three sunny shades: Amped Pink, Tangerine Trance and Berry Remix–Dani

BareMinerals Foundation Gets Pressed

Big news, Bare Escentuals fanatics and those of you who never got on the powder bandwagon: Tomorrow BE launches its first ever pressed foundation. The new BareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation ($29) is formulated without preservatives, talc, waxes, binders, filler or fragrances and as far as I can tell it offers the same beautiful finish and long-lasting coverage as the traditional mineral powder. It has been hard for me to embrace BE’s READY collection of pressed products since I am such a long-time fan of their loose powders, but there’s no denying the ease they offer for touch-ups and travel!

Along with the READY SPF 20 Foundation, BE has launched two new brushes: Precision Face Brush ($28) and Retractable Precision Face Brush ($22). Both contour like a dream and provide a flawless finish. But the retractable brush is an absolute must if you plan to carry that pressed foundation in your purse!

BE Girl’s Skincare Routine

Name: Danielle (aka BE Girl)
Skin Type: dry/combination

Ohhh, skincare. Just the thought of you makes me all warm and fuzzy. I am (to no one’s surprise) a religious user of all things Bare Escentuals. I rely on four products daily: The Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser ($21), a white powder that you combine with water to cleanse and exfoliate skin; Purely Nourishing Moisturizer ($28); and Firming Eye Treatment ($28), which I can actually feel tightening my eye area. In the evening I swap in Pure Transformation Night Treatment ($60). If you want to see blackheads vanish from your skin—try this! When an unwanted emergency arises I turn to the Blemish Therapy ($18). Zits disappear within a day, I swear. For patches of dry skin I apply the Purely Nourishing Cream ($28).

As far as good skincare goes, Bare Escentuals is a really affordable line. You can even customize a full-size starter set for $75 (a $106 value)!

This Summery Makeup Set is Only $35

I tend not to get overly-excited about the kits Bare Escentuals puts out. Don’t get me wrong—I love the products—but if you already own most of them (don’t tell my husband), the sets offer little value-add. Then there’s this newly released Bright & Beautiful Kit. I was at Ulta about to drop $18 on a Vintage Peach Blush, when I spotted it in the kit along with 4 other full-size products for just $35. Score!

Here’s what’s included and why I love them:

PrimeTime Brightening Primer: BE’s standard primer is amazing for keeping your foundation situated all day. This brightening formula adds a layer of radiance so that you also appear naturally glow from the inside out. (Retail value: $21.00)

PrimeTime Brightening Opal Eyelid Primer: It’s a multi-tasker: great for brightening up that eye area and keeping your eye makeup in place all day (and night). (Retails value $18.00)

Big & Bright Eyeliner in Stone: Long-lasting and a fabulous gray-shade looks great on everyone. I never leave the house without at least one of these liners in my purse. (Retails for $14.00)

Vintage Peach Blush: It is officially mid-summer so by now your skin has at least a subtle sun-kissed glow. Accentuate it with this peachy cheek color which has a not-too-shiny touch of shimmer. (Retails for $18.00)

100% Natural Gloss in Fruit Cake: Not too orange, not too pink. Sheer with just a touch of pigment. (retails for $15.00)
