Detoxing With Dandelion Tea

Detoxing With Dandelion Tea | Beauty Bets

While a big cup of coffee gets me out of bed most mornings, come mid-winter when all manner of hot beverages become a comforting mainstay, I rediscover how therapeutic tea can be. It’s really quite magical, what a steamy cup of herbs and flowers and do for your spirit. And the ritual of steeping is a valuable reminder to slow down. One tea that I crave is Roasted Dandelion Root. My favorite brand, Traditional Medicinals, claims that this naturally energizing, caffeine-free tea encourages the body’s natural detoxification process by helping it break down fats during digestion and carry away waste. Rich, nutty and toasty, it’s ALMOST as good as a cup of French Roast but with so many more health benefits, including:

* aids in digestion
* relieves constipation and diarrhea
* purifies the blood and detoxifying the liver (ahem)
* eliminates bloat and water retention
* boosts immunity and fights off bacteria
* improves skin clarity

I sip it straight up to maximize the benefits and because it tastes so pure and wholesome on it’s own, like being at the spa. In warming months, it would also be amazing cold-brewed or iced. Have you tried it? Any other favorite teas?
