A Foundation For People Who Hate Foundation
Like everything else, I’m super picky about my foundation. I want flawless skin but don’t want to look like I’m wearing any makeup. I want to be dewy not shiny at all times, and in all the right places (cheekbones yes; chin no). And I want my makeup to contain sun protection if possible—preferably mineral-based, which is natural, generally non-irritating and feels less weird than chemical blocks. Well, friends, here ’tis: Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream ($29). This is like a tinted moisturizer or BB/CC cream but with surprisingly more coverage that no one will know about but you. It’s also somehow oil-free yet leaves a super-fresh finish (and claims to increase skin hydration by 215% after just one week). AND the SPF 30 is mineral all the way, so you won’t even notice it. Although Bare Minerals’ Smoothing Face Brush ($28) isn’t essential, the dome shape and soft bristles are made for creating that elusive airbrush effect so I recommend it. Plus, this brush will work beautifully with your other liquid foundations and BB/CC creams. NOTE: You may have read about Bare Minerals’ other big launch last year, BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation ($29). I tried that too and prefer Complexion Rescue because of the added coverage and dew factor. Give it try though if you’re on the oily side or a makeup minimalist!
Any other new foundation or tinted discoveries out there? Would love to hear about them!
Ooooh, sounds like something I would like!
