A New Moon + Mercury Goes Retrograde

newmoontaurus

Oh what a way to start the week you guys! With a cosmic pileup. First, there’s a new moon in Taurus on May 17/18—a really beautiful opportunity to get still and examine what you love and value. Are you aligned with your higher self and your innate gifts? Self-love is a choice we make with thoughts, words and actions that support you, not tear you down. It’s something I have to consciously practice daily, often with the help of friends and professionals! Taurus also reveals your talents. Are you tuned into them and honoring your right to live from your truth? Nurture those gifts and abundance will follow. That is the law of attraction at its best. The more we appreciate what we have, the more good can flow in. According to the Astro Twins, “New moons are sparks that light a fire. That fire goes full-blaze six months in the future under the advent of a corresponding full moon. In 2015, the Taurus full moon takes place on October 27. Mark your calendar, as this is the day for manifesting the intentions and wishes we set now.”

Meanwhile . . .

mercuryretrograde

Yep. Fun. Mercury goes retrograde May 18-June 11, urging us to gird our loins, or at least all communication, emails, and travel. It’s also not a time for makeovers, technology purchases, or starting something new. And yet life can’t stop just because Mercury is being manic. I’ve gone entire retrogrades without a blip only to have contracts fall to pieces during a seemingly peaceful planetary phase. So my advice is to slow down, breathe, and use this time to reflect rather than start something new. Doing so will save you possible frustration and who among us doesn’t need an excuse to finish projects that we’ve started, even if that just means the pile of books on your nightstand or the closet that needs purging? May the force be with you!
