Kitty Cotten is Cute + Has Cool Beauty Picks

kittycotten2

She’s cute as a button, spunky in the best possible sense, and her name really is Kitty. Meet my Minnesota homegirl Kitty Cotten, a lifestyle blogger + hoot of a youtuber who also happens to wise beyond her years. I swear she’s the next Zooey Deschanel. Kitty was kind enough to share her holy grail of beauty products…including how to get that killer cat eye. Meow!

No.1  Stila Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Black ($20) My favorite eye look is a perfectly flicked cat eye and this liner nails it every time!

No.2  Young Living Peace & Calming Essential Oil ($19) When my skin breaks out it’s almost always due to stress. When I’m feeling anxious or stressed out I’ll rub a drop or two of this on my décolleté. Then, I’ll cup my hands together and cover my nose and take a few big deep breathes to relax. Ylang Yland and Patchouli in this oil blend are hugely beneficial to skin while the other ingredients promote relaxation which helps me get a good night’s rest. I can’t live without this stuff!

No.3  Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate ($46) This serum has completely rejuvenated my skin over the past year. It’s evened out my blotchy red skin and nourished my skin, keeping it balanced and happy. I also think this product has helped with my acne by simply feeding my skin all the good stuff it’s been craving after using so many harsh and stripping acne products over the years.

No.4  Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm ($28) I’m a stickler when it comes to taking off my makeup. I like my skin to be squeaky clean before my face hits the pillow. This cleansing balm gets every bit of makeup off—even my waterproof eyeliner—without drying out my skin.

No.5  Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder ($27) Hi, my name is Kitty Cotten and I’m a dry shampoo junkie. I’ve probably tried over a dozen different brands and then I found Bubble and Bumble’s Pret-a-powder. It’s equal parts dry shampoo, style extender with a touch of volume that gives me that perfectly imperfect sexy second day hair look that I love.

No.6  NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($29) A cult classic in the makeup world and for good reason. It’s smooth, blendable, buildable and covers imperfections like a dream. I recently started using this concealer under my eyes with Smashbox’s Under Eye Primer and whoa! It makes the product even creamier and keeps it crease-free and put under my eyes all day!

No.7  Maybelline Full-N-Soft Mascara ($6) I’ve been using this mascara since high school. It was love a first swipe. I’ll try out a different mascara every now and then, but I always go back to this one.

No.8  Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive ($39) Over the past few years I’ve come to understand the absolute need to exfoliate one’s face to keep it bright, fresh and even. I’d always used physical exfoliators in the past and never found one I thought was any good. Then I got a sample of Juice Beauty’s Sensitive Green Apple Peel and couldn’t believe how wonderful my face looked the next day after using it. That was nearly two years ago and I really couldn’t live without it.

No.9  Jane Iredale PurePressed Base SPF 20 ($52) I’m a mineral foundation kinda gal. I love how it feels on my skin and how easy and quick it is to apply. This one was a new discovery for me in 2014. The first time I tried it I couldn’t believe how even and flawless my skin looked and how I didn’t even feel like I was wearing makeup! My favorite way to apply it is with Tarte’s Kabuki Brush ($26).

No.10  CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 ($14) I wear SPF on my face every single day. CeraVe’s AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion is everything my oily skin needs in the morning. Another one of those products I’ve been using for years and years. I’m probably on my twentieth bottle or something by now.
