Falling Down the Rabbit Hole
Self-defeating talk can be so habitual. A therapist once described it to me as a groove we’ve worn into our brains. Whatever you tell yourself, however you process experiences—for better or worse—is often by default and subconscious. Start paying attention to the three or four channels your brain tunes into all day and it may scare the crap out of you. One of my defaults is definitely beating myself for not being better at just about everything, from taking instagram photos to decorating my house. Yep, it’s gross and it’s a groove I attempt daily smooth out. Blessedly, we’ll get a bit of help this month with Venus in Pisces through February 20. Fresh Astrology recommends making the most of this passage as a “resting rabbit.” Instead of falling down a rabbit hole by beating yourself up or feeling sorry for yourself, tune into the beauty around you. Use this time for deeper contemplation instead of hopping around in circles like a bun-bun. Look for signs of love, peace and fairness . . . they really are all around us. Finally, feel compassion toward the you that lived through troubling times (did anyone else have a shitty January?!), feel good about who you are now and forgive the past.
