The Right Way to Straighten Your Hair

The final installment in our series of stunning (and simple!) hair tutorials featuring products from our not-so-secret obsession, Sally Beauty. Be sure to check out the first two how-tos: Blow Dryer Curls and Casual Waves

SleekandStraight

I don’t straighten my hair that often, but when I do I’m always reminded of how shiny and long my hair feels! The Ion Titanium Pro Multi-Styler gets seriously hot with temperature settings between 350-450 degrees so if you’re looking for some serious straightening power this is the tool for you. I kept it at 350 degrees and it effortlessly straightens my hair. Here are my fail-proof tricks:

1. Comb wet hair with a wide-tooth comb. The comb will also come in handy when separating hair into sections for the flat-iron.
2. Smooth 1-2 pumps of protective Hair Chemist Coconut Oil Hair Serum ($8.99 and B1G1!) into your hair, focusing mostly on the ends.
3. Thoroughly blow dry hair. I like the Plugged in Professional Turbo Dryer ($24.99 on sale) because it always leaves my hair so sleek.
4. Separate hair into sections and secure with a clip. Grab 1-2 inch sections of hair and begin straightening with your Ion Titanium Pro Multi-Styler ($69.99). Do your bottom layers first and work your way up to the top of your head. p.s. If you purchase any Ion styling tool at Sally Beauty this month, you’ll get a mini styling tool free!
