Gratitude is like breathing. Essential yet often taken for granted. I’d like to think of myself as a grateful person—I certainly have more than I need, deserve or could’ve ever dreamed of—but if I’m not mindful, it’s easy to slip into an ungrateful spirit. Bad days, crabby moments, frustration when something doesn’t go my way, those are wake-up calls to remember all of the good things in my life. One way I’m practicing gratitude is by publicly honoring the people who put up with me, bring out the best in me, and often bring me to my knees with their kindnesses and generous spirit. Acknowledging their wholeheartedness actually fills me to the brim like nothing else. I wish I had thought of it sooner! If you’d like to join me in this simple act, feel free to use #bbgratitude on Instagram. That’s where you’ll find this beauty, Megan McCarty, who always makes me feel like a supermodel even though she’s the single most beautiful person I know.
