A Simple Trick for Dewy Summer Skin
The truth is that I use this foundation trick year-round. It’s great in the winter when your skin is dry and the Skin Savior Balm actively hydrates your skin all day, but it’s also amazing in the summer, when you want to radiate with a dewy glow, wear a natural SPF, and might need to alter your color every few weeks to match your summer glow. The trick is easy and has 3 key elements: the Bare Mineral SPF 15 Powder Foundation ($27), One Love Organics Skin Savior Balm ($39), and the EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush ($8).
To start, put a small amount of Skin Savior onto the back of your hand. You can also do this in a small dish or bowl but your body heat helps to heat up the balm. Next, add some mineral powder. Add a little bit for sheer coverage (like a tinted moisturizer) and more for a thicker, more opaque foundation. You can customize your shade by using multiple shades of mineral foundation and adjust your shade throughout the season. Gently mix the Skin Savior and mineral powder together using the Skin Perfecting Brush and then buff it into your skin until you achieve the coverage you’d like. The Skin Perfecting Brush is amazing. Not only is it sitting at a pretty price point (hello, eight dollars!) and is available down the street at your local Walgreens or Ulta, but this brush truly performs. It’s small, so it easily blends under the eyes and around the nose, the synthetic bristles are cruelty-free and don’t clump from the balm, plus it’s slight angle makes it perfect for applying tinted moisturizers and bb creams!
To complete the look sweep your favorite bronzer (I love Warmth, Bets swears by Faux Tan) below cheekbones and along the sides of your nose. Spritz with an all-natural face spray (I love ED4OLO Vitamin D Moisture Mist), gently press the mist into your skin using the Skin Perfecting Brush, and then top with a pop of your favorite blush and highlighter, if you wish. Glow get it, girl!
I love bare minerals, especially in the Summer. This tip is so incredible, I can’t wait to try it out. Thank you so much!!!!

This looks like a great tip…does the brush get gunky after using the balm? Do you wash it after each use?
The brush does not tend to get gunky! It holds up very well. I wash it every 2 weeks.
Do you think you could mix it ahead of time in a sealed container?
what color blush did you use?
After reading this I ran to Ulta and bought bare minerals and the eco tools brush. I love using it with the Skin Savior my skin looks amazing! I have oily skin and was a little worried it would be too greasy but its not. What a great tip thanks for sharing!
So thrilled you love it as much as we do, Ana!
Is this good for oily skin too? Also, does it feel sticky after putting it on?
Hi Kimmie! The balm doesn’t feel sticky at all but it is oil-based so I would start with less and see how it goes. Oil is surprisingly awesome at balancing your own oil.
I discovered this trick a year ago when I got my first skin Savior balm. It’s so easy and simple – LOVE it!
