Hydrating Blueberry Face Mask

My family has made a summer ritual of taking early morning trips to the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market. Even as a kid, the rows of fresh, vibrant produce always seemed magical to me. My mom would let me pick out a special treat and I usually chose something sweet, like fruit. Those Sunday mornings at the market have inspired me to find new ways to use what’s in season—both in and out of the kitchen. Blueberries are at their peak this time of year and filled with powerful antioxidants that not only do wonders for your body, but also your skin. If you can keep yourself from devouring it first, this farm-fresh hydrating blueberry mask will make your skin glow. Enjoy! –Hannah
1/4 fresh local blueberries (frozen berries may be substituted in a pinch)
1 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp olive oil
Juice of half a lemon
1 tsp sugar
1. Pulse the first four ingredients in a blender until smooth.
2. Sprinkle in sugar and massage evenly over the face, being careful of the eye area.
3. Leave mask on for ten minutes.
4. Remove with a warm, damp cloth.
Keep any leftover mask in a sealed contained in the fridge for up to three days.
