The Makeup Clutch

I collect clutches. I have a drawerful of them—leather, sequin, vintage, lizard, silk, straw, ribbon. They can make an outfit AND carry all of my “essentials.” Because in addition to the requisite car keys, iphone, cash, and credit cards are always a half dozen lipsticks, compact, perfume, and whatever ditty I’m testing at the moment. Which is why I’ve always wanted to smoosh the words makeup + clutch together and poof: a cute handheld bag that could carry all of those little things would appear. Lucky for me the the brilliant Chicago-based designer Jess LC offered to create just that for By Elizabeth Dehn. The Makeup Clutch ($30) is made of classic ivory twill, lined in turquoise (obvs), and trimmed with gold and leather details. I love the nautical feel SO much. Jess is a master at designing products with purpose, and I have no doubt you’re going to find endless uses for this bag while looking pretty in the process! xo —Elizabeth

    ABOUT BETS
Born and raised in Minnesota by surprisingly low-maintenance parents, beauty writer and lifestyle editor Elizabeth Dehn (aka Bets) spent her awkward years buying Mood lipstick and whipping up DIY face masks before founding Beauty Bets in 2009 as a way to share candid product reviews and real beauty advice for smart women everywhere. When she’s not test-driving the latest beauty treatment (bee venom facial, anyone?) or serving as the beauty editor for Mpls. St. Paul Magazine and ClementineDaily.com, Elizabeth can be spotted running the Minneapolis Lakes with her white lab, Molly Thomas, or sipping champagne on a killer patio. Pass the sunscreen.
