Aimee Lagos of Hygge & West

This is Aimee Lagos. We met eons ago when she and her BFF Christina were launching the (then) wee + wonderful wallpaper site, Hygge & West.

Before long there were partnering with all kinds of impressively talented designers to create the most stunning patterns. Like this one, from Joy Cho of Oh Joy!

Have you EVER??

Aimee and Christina are also the U.S. distributors for Ferm Living, a perfectly modern yet classic home-decor purveyor whose Vertigo bedding makes my heart beat faster:

Then there’s the beauty thing. Aimee is so fresh-faced, so NOT haggard despite her jam-packed world as wife, mother + massively successful entrepreneur, I had to ask for her secrets! —Elizabeth

1. Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday nail polish ($18) – I’ve become obsessed with nail polish in the past couple years, and my business partner and best friend since childhood gave me this nail polish, fittingly, for my birthday this year. It’s truly a party on your nails, and you cannot look at it without smiling.

2. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion ($24) – I have used this every single day since I was 13. I love that it’s light and not greasy, and every time I buy a new bottle, I remember the very first time my mom took me to the Clinique counter.

3. Boots No 7 Total Renewal Micro-dermabrasion Exfoliator ($15) – I used to buy an expensive exfoliator from a company that will not be named (Kiehl’s) and then someone recommended this Boots product to me. It’s exactly the same thing for less than half the price. Trust me on this.

4. Bes’ Kine False Eyelashes – False eyelashes are my favorite way to create a fun evening look. As a working mom of two young boys, I don’t have a lot of opportunities to get glamorous, so when they arise, I really go for it. These are from Hawaii, where my mother’s family lives. You can only get them there so I bring back probably 20 pairs every time we visit.

5. Body Time Lavender Mint Body Shampoo ($7–$18) – Body Time is this funky little company based in the Bay Area that makes amazing all natural products (their mint scrub facial cleanser is also a fave). This product smells delicious and helps get me out of my morning funk during my daily shower. It also reminds me of living in northern CA when my boys were babies.

6. Kerastase Serum Oleo Relax ($33) – I have very thick, very coarse hair and this stuff works miracles on it. It makes my hair so soft and shiny and it smells AMAZING. And even though it’s pricey, a little really goes a long way.

7. Lancome Definicils Waterproof Mascara ($25) – I refuse to leave the house without mascara, and this is hands down my favorite. Every now and then, I’ll go on a quest for a new mascara, but I always find myself coming back to this one.
