Jaimi Brooks of Fiore Beauty

Jaimi Brooks has one of those stories that we all dream about but pray to GOD never actually happen because then we’d be left to ponder our own workaday existance: Girl becomes manicurist to pay her way through college. Girl is so good and so charming that she becomes one of L.A.’s most sought-after manicurists, with a client roster that includes J.Lo and Reese Witherspoon. Girl is also so clever that she starts Fiore Beauty, a luxury service offering hair, makeup, massage, and mani/pedis on location. I don’t know about you, but I want to know what’s in this girl’s beauty bag!

(l to r)  Sally Hansen Double Duty Base and Top Coat ($5) – This awesome drugstore polish is the best ever when used as the top coat of your manicure. Add a second coat the day after your manicure and your polish will last perfectly for a whole week.

Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation ($40) – This foundation is perfection. I use it with a NARS primer. It has beautiful coverage, often making concealer often unnecessary; blends into the skin so naturally, stays put all day without settling into creases, and keeps skin hydrated. The color range is really nice too and makes it easy to find the perfect shade.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils ($24) – I love both the finish and colors of these lip crayons. They are highly pigmented so the color pops and stays put. The reds are the best—Forbidden Red, a classic red, is my favorite— I don’t even bother trying reds on from other lines anymore. Bettina is my favorite choice for a nude lip. It has just enough color to be easy-to-wear.

Kate Somerville Exfolikate ($85) –  Exfoliation is such a key part of beautiful skin and ExfoliKate is a miracle product. You can see and feel the difference after each use, making your skin clean, smooth and hydrated. Your skin will be clear and your makeup will go on like a dream. So worth every cent.

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara – black, straight-wand, non-waterproof ($7) – I love really full lashes and nothing does it better than Voluminious. I LOVE how full it makes the lash without making them stiff, and how easily it comes off. The price makes it that much better.

Chanel Glossimer Lip Glosses ($24) – These lip glosses are so luxurious, from the fomulation right down to the packaging. There are so many lovely colors and finishes to choose from, and they stay on long enough without being too sticky. Imaginarium is my favorite color right now—it’s a soft, pretty pink pop.

Rene Fruterer Dry Shampoo ($12–$24) – This dry shampoo is the gold standard, allowing you to keep your blowdry for an extra day or add texture to clean hair when you want to put your hair up. What makes this dry shampoo better than the rest is that the powder spray is finer then other brands so you can’t mess it up.
